A TSY class will look a lot like a slow mindful flow class. You will be given options and encouraged to move towards finding comfort in your body. The focus is not to achieve a particular physical form but to make your body an ally and friend. You will be supported to feel and connect to your own individual experience on the mat and will be invited to practically explore the expression of each physical form as it is most beneficial to you. What underlies all of this work is the coming back to you body. Knowing we have a body. Feeling the body.
TSY was developed to increase yoga's accessibility to those who may not be comfortable walking into a mainstream yoga studio. The style was developed to create a non-threatening, safe space for participants to come back to their bodies. TSY centres around several themes that include supporting students in making choices about how and when they move their bodies, focusing on strengthening present moment awareness, and re-establishing internal rhythms disrupted by trauma.
